One such company is american-based UBB, Ultimate Bad Boy, which is run by a Brit, and which gave me the keys to the most powerful road car ever driven.

Before I reveal the astonishing number of horses, I need to put it into perspective. A normal family road car like a 2.0 litre for Mondeo has 143bhp. A sports car like Porsche's Boxster has 252bhp. A Ferrari F430 supercar has 483bhp. And a Formula One car has around 800 bhp, but this mustang has more.

One thousand brake horsepower is the actual figure that UBB managed to squeeze out of the 5.4 litre V8. It has one of the biggest super chargers fitted to it that you'll find outside the drag racing world. Itl hit 60mph in 3.8 seconds and has a huge amount of torque 825il/ft - almost twice that of a Lamborghini Murcielago.

I buried the throttle once more in second and third gear, and the ferocity of the V8 suck out of my soul and spit it onto the verge passing at gunfire rapidity. Once I'd remembered to breathe, I tried to stop swearing as the power, force and vibrations jolted through me.
